Birthday Poem
50th Birthday Ode to my pal Sharon
with lots of love Tracy xx
On the 14th July, in the year 1957
A pink bundle of joy arrived, all the way from heaven.
A second gorgeous girl for Hazel and Sidney Loofe
Yes, over there it's Sharon, she is the living proof.
Not a lot do I know about her formative years,
But I'm sure she and Valerie were 2 little dears!
I believe she was not very keen on any of her schools
Yet still became educated on the subject of expensive jewels.
Hailing originally from Yorkshire, well Leeds to
be precise.
We've never held it against her, in fact we think she is quite nice.
But her destiny was to meet Warren, eldest of 3 boys
Some would say he was the quiet one, and she made all the noise!
So a bride at just 19 she emigrated to our town
Yet some days there were tears, and even the odd frown.
But many friends she did make in the years that lay ahead
So much so it was going back to Leeds that she would often dread.
First to Whitefield, with neighbours very friendly
Fabulous looking girls, called I think Tracy and Wendy.
But it wasn't long before she produced 2 daughters of her own
Michelle and Nicola, into 2 beauties they have grown.
For the 1st few years of marriage, content to be
a mother & a wife
Everything ran smoothly, she and Warren shared the good life.
Then it was time for a change, Hale came a beckoning
Warren did his sums, and Roby House was in the reckoning.
Now the girls were growing up, Sharon needed to
fill her time
She thought, I know a career in interior design.
No sooner said than done celebrity clients' joined the queue
For each and everyone a unique room with a view.
In between Sharon would turn into a model
Especially good in hats, she would never waddle.
Very charitable when it came to giving of her time
I'm really glad that she was otherwise this would not rhyme.
Currently working on QVC the shopping channel, she
is at her best.
Selling jewellry, make up and nic naks, whatever they request.
Sharon's come a long way since making aliya all the way from Leeds
A great friend, wife, mother and daughter are amongst her good deeds.
So, it only remains for me to congratulate my pal
on being 50.
There is no doubt with wrinkles mother nature has been thrifty!
Good health and happiness to you in the years that lie ahead
And remember,if you want to keep looking fab, stay off the bloody
bread!!
